Born and raised among the natural beauty of remote Siberia, Altana was inspired by the easy flow of natural lines where the earth meets the sky.  At an early age, she would deconstruct secondhand clothes to recreate flowing dresses that defied the limits of her environment.

As she moved West – first to Saint-Petersburg, then to New York City and San Francisco, she took with her the love of natural flowing lines and combined them with all the bright colors the outside world had to offer. 

Unlike large production houses, Altana designs each piece by her own hand.  She starts with a fabric that inspires her – and then custom cuts and crafts each one until it matches her imagination. Each piece is cut and sewn by a small team of custom trained seamstresses and never mass produced.
